Every school resource officer must be carefully selected and specially trained — NASRO to Cincinnati Enquirer


NASRO director of operations Mac Hardy told the Cincinnati Enquirer what we mean when we say, “every school needs at least one carefully selected and specially trained school resource officer.”

“The officer has to be properly fitted to the community, communicate well, be open, enjoys being around kids and be motivated to what’s right in a school,” Hardy said. “He’s not going in there to be a beat cop. We want him to understand the teen (or child) brain.”
